The 2024 Texas Bandmasters Association welcomes The Gateways Brass Collective

What a wonderful experience to have been invited to perform at the 2024 Texas Bandmasters Association and Clinic!

This year, we gave to two wonderful performances to all the participants and gave an engaging lecture on “Strategic Approaches to Building a Successful Band through Brass Quintets.”

During this session, we performed and demonstrated how brass quintets could enhance a band program by focusing on a students development of valuable ensemble skills: Communication, Leadership, Attention to Details and Accountability. We know all to well how understanding and obtaining the aforementioned is critical to the development of all musicians in high performing wind bands, which would then foster a greater sense of community while raising the level of the performance within an ensemble.

One of the wonderful things about being invited to these clinics is that you get converse and fellowship with the best of the best in the educational/music field, and with those that continue to inspire a generation while setting a precedent while planting seeds of compassion, empathy, and knowledge to produce a bountiful harvest.
